Mission Statement We, the students of West High School, in order to develop democratic ideals, to establish a closer contact between students and faculty, to encourage a high standard of scholarship, to promote school pride and school spirit, to encourage worthwhile activities in the school, to provide service to our school and community, and to secure the loyal cooperation of the entire student body in all matters pertaining to the welfare of our school, do establish this Constitution for the Student Council of West High School.

The purpose of this organization shall be:

1. To merge interests of and maintain open communication among the students, faculty, and administration.
2. To provide a forum for students to express their concerns and ideas regarding school issues and improvement.
3. To promote school pride and school spirit.
4. To serve as role models for the student body.
5. To plan and execute activities consistent with the education and extra-curricular goals of the school.
6. To advise and/or assist the principal in the formulation and administration of school policy.
7. To provide leadership in student extra-curricular activities and to acquaint students with activities available to them.
8. To become actively involved in the betterment of the community.
