Competition 2- March 29, 2007 |
| The team arrived at the Greater Columbus Convention Center around 8:45 am for the robotic competition.
The team is not nervous at all because the team has great faith that we will do very well. It took us awhile to get everyone registered
and get everything set for the competition but the team was waiting patiently and was ready to go.
|
The team finally got their plan together and decided to go to workshops that the Convention Center had that was very educational. The team learned a lot of great things about life such as careers and work forces that are available. The team then got together at 11:30 and ate lunch together. Then we went back to the competition room and started working on the robot and trying to get some brilliant ideas on how to run the robot. The competition wasn't supposed to start untill 1:30pm but the competition didn't get started until 2:00pm. During the process of working the robot, the team saw some bad things about the robot but Josh the robotic worker fixed them in no time. But however the job was not good enough to get what the team needed to get done. The team did not rank 1st, 2nd, or 3rd but the team did get 4th. A video clip will be presented to show the competition. Mr. Scott has really recognized what needs to be done and is very impressed with the team and he has recognized what he needs to do for next years Robotic team. Please congradulate the following: Diamond Taylor, Jeremy Gill,Quentin Garred, Joshua Dearing, Sayra Lopez, David Bartmas, Tyrell Fuller and Brandon Edwards for their excellent work for the 2007 Robotic Team. The Power Point of our oral presentation will be available on here as soon as we can get it available. |

Meeting 6 - March 23rd 2007 |
Today the team got together 6th period and was working on some more ideas on how to build the robot to where the robot can pick
up the blocks and carry it to the bunker and then come back to the center of the circle. We thought of some great ideas so were just
hoping that they will work on what the team has to do. Mr Scott also talked about some more rules that were put into play and still
the team is working hard and we don't think the rules are going to stop us from doing what we have to do.

Meeting 5 - March 21, 2007 |
| Today the group got together after school at 2:30pm till 4:00pm. The group worked together and planned on just working with one team
now instead of two teams and were going to combine the robot kits and put them together to create one nice robot to do what we got to do. The team
has nice confidence in ourselves to get a victory. While the team is working on the robot Jeremy Gill and Diamond Taylor is creating a
Microsoft Power Point for our oral presentation because it is required. The presentation is worth the most points in the entire competition.
The teams next meeting is Friday during 6th period. A video clip will be created when it is avaliable. |

Meeting 3 - March 19th 2007 |
| Today the team got together and worked on the rest of the robot trying to get some great ideas on how to build the robot. As you
can see in the pictures the robot is built we are just trying to get some great ideas on how to finish building the robot so it can
pick up as many as blocks as we program the robot to pick up. Our main goal is for the robot to pick up as many as either 3 or 5 blocks
at one time. If we can achieve this goal then it would be great on our part because we have to pick up 15 blocks and carry them out of the
circle and put them were they are supposed to be in a certain amount of time. |

| Today Mr. Scott got part of the group today and talked about the project more.

Meeting 1 - March 9th 2007 |
| Today we talked about the beginning of our club. Mr. Scott went over what the
mission was for our team to do and even picked out the teams and showed the teams
the equipment that we are going to be working with. What is our mission?
Our mission is to build a robot that will pick up blocks one at a time and
move them to a storage bunker in a certain amount of time. The faster
we work as a team and complete this the more points the team gets. More
Information will be provided when we find out more. |
